Orange County is easily reached by major highways. The New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) is the major route from New York City and Albany. Interstate 84 takes visitors from Pennsylvania through Orange County to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Route 17 (soon to be Interstate 86) starts at the Thruway and proceeds northwest through the county.

From the South:

  • I-87 North, Exit 16 (Harriman) to NYS Route 17 West
  • I-87 North, Exit 17 (Newburgh) to I-84 East and West
  • Palisades Interstate Parkway North from the George Washington Bridge

From the North:

  • I-87 South

From the East and West:

  • I-84 East and West
