2010-2011 County of Orange Arts Grant Program:
County Executive Edward A. Diana has announced the award winners of the 2010 County of Orange Arts Grants. Thirty-two awards were made in amounts between $500 and $4,500 to organizations and individuals in the County.

“The County of Orange Arts Grant program, now in its eighth year, bolsters Orange County’s growing arts community, a sector that provides valuable artistic and cultural programs that help make our county a wonderful place to live and visit,” said County Executive Diana.  “This funding has a positive, direct impact on our artists and arts organizations, as well our residents and tourists who benefit from the experiences as a result of our support.”

This year the top award of $4,500 went to Storm King Art Center for support of their 50th Anniversary Concert Series. The season-long series will feature local and regional musicians, representing various genres, including classical, jazz, African drumming, Dixieland, and instrumental guitar, as well as composers of music popular during Storm King’s inaugural season in 1960. The 31 remaining awards were granted to support a diverse mix of artistic disciplines for presentations, displays, performances, and workshops throughout Orange County spanning the spectrum of visual and performing arts, including painting, photography, dance, theater, music, film, public art, multi-cultural, multi-media, and web-based projects.
